Christian Concourse Ministry Newsletter – June 2025

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you, everyone, for being our friends! Thank you for showing your care for us and those to whom we minister by your prayers and financial support. In every letter we feel compelled to make sure we say this to reflect our gratitude for your help. God bless you.

As we are sure all of you know, we are dedicated in this nursing home ministry to share tools and resources for use by staff and volunteers in Christian ministry in the long-term care arena. It would be hard to overstate how important nursing home ministry is, especially to those who know our Lord Jesus and those whom our Master is calling who have not yet responded to His invitation. Our God compels us to give Him our voices and our talents as His witnesses in care facilities (James 1:27).

One such witness comes to mind. Her name was Annie Johnson Flint, born in Vineland, New Jersey. We are told she was orphaned at a young age. She was adopted and while still a youth, lost her adopted parents to illness. In early adulthood she was overtaken with crippling rheumatoid arthritis. Annie spent her last years in Clifton Springs, New York where she aided ministry in the local sanitarium. She knew the ravages of the extreme deprivation and chronic pain often experienced by the care facility population. But she loved our Lord and she could still write poetry! We include below one of her more famous poems that has been put to music.

He Giveth More Grace

by Annie Johnson Flint (1866 – 1932)

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

“But he giveth more grace.” James 4:6For my strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2Cor 12:9

We encourage each of you when you are given the opportunity to visit with an elderly or infirm Christian, watch for the wisdom and the grace the Father has invested in His precious, little child.

Love to All, in Christ,

Jerry and Dar Johnson
