We greet you with grateful hearts for the kindness all of you have shown us with your friendship, your prayers, your encouragement, and your donations. We know many of you do not benefit directly from our activities or from the materials we produce…and you faithfully support us anyway. You are a gift to us from our Father and your Father. None of you have demanded that we be participants in any particular denomination or sect of Christianity in order to warrant your love and kindness. What an expression of the unity of the Body of Christ! Certainly, we love Jesus and we serve Him with all we can muster – this we have aspired to from the beginning and, as far as we can tell, it has been all you expected of us. What a blessing you are to us! We are humbled by your care and your trust. Again, thank you!
Orders for our materials for nursing home ministry are pouring in! This is such a good sign for nursing home residents. Facilities are beginning to open up at a serious clip. And, wouldn’t you know it, we have just this week been able to obtain plenty of 60 lb paper and cardstock to meet the current requests. This is in spite of the fact that both of these products have been either scarce, unavailable or unbelievably expensive for the past two years (though we have never received an order that we were not able to fill – praise be to our LORD!)
Also, hot off the press and sizzling off the hard-drive, we just this week posted on our website the first in a series of new tools to touch the lives of residents in care facilities all over the country. We call it “Praise to Our Redeemer Devotionals.” Each will be a video centered around a favorite old-fashioned hymn of the Christian faith. We are planning to go through all 54 hymns in both our hymn booklets with these visual devotionals. Each will center around the singing of the hymn followed by relevant scriptures. Included are meditations that relate to the message of the hymn and the scriptures. The visual component of the videos are taken from beautiful scenes from God’s natural creation.
The first installment of “Praise to Our Redeemer Devotionals” that we posted this week is based on the hymn, “Count Your Blessings.” If you have internet access, go to the top of the home page of our website (www.christianconcourse.org) and there you will find a link to the written copy of the text of the devotional and a link to the video itself. We would be honored for your feedback on this new resource for ministry to the elderly and the infirm.
